Latest Olympic Coins Introduced

The International Olympic
Committee has introduced Series TV of a five-set Centennial
Coin Collection titled "The Olympic Vision." The
theme of this three-coin series - one gold and two sterling
coins - is "Art, Music and Sport" and was produced
by the Austrian Mint.
The first of the two sterling silver coins
for 1995, both of 200 Schillings face value, is entitled "The
Rhythmic Gymnast" and shows the olympic sport in which
music plays a major role.
The second silver coin is dedicated to winter
sports capturing the thrill, power and speed of a skier slashing
through the slalom gates.
Begun in 1992 and continuing through 1946
- the years of the Olympic Centennial celebration - one of
five major countries has been selected to strike an annual
issue of one gold and two silver coins. The five countries
are Canada, Australia, France, Austria and Greece.
The coins are available individually, as
annual sets or as a complete five-set, fifteen coin collection.
