First Annual China Silver Conference Scheduled - Event to Help Stimulate China Silver Market

In recent years, China has emerged as a significant player in the global silver market. Until 1994, China was a net importer of silver, but today China is the fourth-largest silver-producing nation.

In recognition of China’s new prominence in the market, the First Annual China Silver Conference is scheduled for September 4-6 in Huhhot, in Inner Mongolia, by the Huatong Nonferrous Metal Wholesale Marketplace Co, Ltd. and Qiankim Company.

The purpose of the conference is to exchange information, discuss market trends and developments for silver inside and outside of China, and stimulate the development of a robust domestic silver market. The organizers hope to attract a wide range of international delegates involved in the global silver trade, from bullion bankers to refiners and miners and industrial manufacturers of silver-based products. A large contingent of Chinese market participants is expected from across the silver market.

Conference sponsors include The Silver Institute, the China Nonferrous Metal Association, the City of Huhhot and the Development and Research Center of the China State Department.
