2004 International Zinc and Silver Conferences Announced
September 26, 2003
(Washington, DC - September 26, 2003) The
American Zinc Association (AZA) and the Silver Institute are
pleased to announce the 2004 International Zinc and Silver
Conferences, which will be held from February 22-25, 2004
in Phoenix, Arizona, at Marriott's new Desert Ridge Resort.
"This forum will be the premier zinc and silver industry events
in 2004," said George Vary, AZA's Executive Director. "The
conferences will provide industry leaders an unmatched venue
for creating or maintaining strong business relationships,"
Vary continued.
This first-of-its-kind event reflects the many ties between
the two metals, from ore bodies, to producers of both zinc
and silver, to common issues affecting their futures, including
the importance of China. "Our industries and associations
have a solid history of joint efforts, so it makes eminent
sense that we should bring our two conferences together at
the same location," said Paul Bateman, Executive Director
of the Silver Institute.
The 2004 International Zinc and Silver Conferences will also
offer zinc- and silver-specific sessions in such areas as
the outlook for zinc consumption and price and the emerging
markets for silver. A particular focus will be given to the
growing importance of China in the markets for both metals.
A roster of distinguished speakers, including chief executives,
top analysts, and international financiers will share their
valuable insights with the conference delegates over three
days. And, as always, major zinc concentrate negotiations
will take place.
The event is open to all interested parties. Registration
and program materials will be announced shortly.
